Welcome to Already, Yet
Hi there,
Welcome to Already, Yet, my weekly newsletter where I share my journey as a UX designer taking on a new leading role for the first time. The goal of this newsletter is to use self-reflection as a tool to support my growth, stay accountable, and hopefully spark some reflections in you.
To be honest, taking on a new role can be a bit daunting, especially when you feel like you're not quite ready. As I approach my new job and foresee the responsabilities of being a young leader, I often feel the pressure to have everything figured out, but the truth is, I'm still learning and growing. Sometimes I struggle with imposter syndrome, and I'm sure many of you can relate. But I believe that self-reflection is a powerful tool that can help us overcome these feelings and move forward in our careers with confidence.
The idea for this space of shared retrospection, is inspired by the great work of incredible design leaders such as Ami Vora's "The Hard Parts of Growth" and Julie Zhou's "The Looking Glass." These resources have taught me the importance of taking time to reflect, and the power to share learnings with others and I hope to use this newsletter as a way to pay it forward and share my own experiences with you.
In Already, Yet I will write about the situations and moments that sparked my weekly reflections. Each newsletter will include three sections: a little story to introduce and give context to the topic, a synthesis and takeaway of the reflection, and a mini-retrospective to summarize the topic and set intentions for the future. Hopefully, I will be able to include the contribution of my mentor as well and charge this reflections with value and thoughtful provocations for me to share with you.
As I navigate my career path from junior to senior designer, I have learned that personal growth is a continuous journey. It takes self-reflection, self-development, and the willingness to learn from our mistakes to become better designers and better leaders. I hope that through documenting my own journey, I can inspire and support others in their own growth.

Thanks for joining me on this journey, and I look forward to reflecting with you.
