Hey there!
Welcome to "Already, Yet" - my weekly newsletter where I share my journey as a UX designer taking on a new leading role for the first time. Here, I use self-reflection as a tool to support my personal growth, stay accountable, and hopefully spark some reflections in you too.
Let's be real, taking on a new role can be daunting, especially when you feel like you're not quite ready. As I approach my new job and foresee the responsibilities of being a young leader, I often feel the pressure to have everything figured out, but the truth is - I'm still learning and growing. And I'm not alone, imposter syndrome affects so many of us. But I believe that self-reflection is a powerful tool that can help us overcome these feelings and move forward in our careers with confidence.
So in "Already, Yet", I write about the situations and moments that sparked my weekly reflections. Each newsletter includes a little story to introduce and give context to the topic, a synthesis and takeaway of my reflection, and a mini-retrospective to summarize the topic and set intentions for the future. Along the way, I hope to include the contribution of my mentor too, charging these reflections with value and thoughtful provocations to share with you.
As I navigate my career path from junior to senior designer, I've learned that personal growth is a continuous journey. It takes self-reflection, self-development, and the willingness to learn from our mistakes to become better designers and better leaders. And that's what I hope to inspire in you - by documenting my own journey, I hope to support and inspire others in their own growth.
So join me on this journey, and let's reflect together!
